In an effort to protect helping hands, Hillsdale College donated more than 12,000 gloves and enough supplies to make 20 gallons of hand sanitizer to Hillsdale Hospital.
“This is a challenging time for our local Hillsdale health care community,” Dr. Chris VanOrman, Hillsdale College provost, said in the release published by MLive. “Our college community looked for ways to support Hillsdale Hospital and others as they work to fight this deadly disease.”
The college has also lent the hospital its fleet vans and housing. The hospital has not run out of supplies of personal protective equipment or had so many patients that overflow space was needed, but they are asking the community to donate items so that it can be prepared. Hillsdale Hospital chief operating officer Jeremiah Hodshire said the hospital is grateful for the supplies, and they are encouraged by all of the donations coming in from the community.
The gloves and sanitizer supplies came from Hillsdale College's science department.
