Did you know that the space under the road becomes hollow when the ice melts in spring? That means cars and other heavy machinery driving over these spots can cause the asphalt to collapse, forming a pothole.
With warmer weather predicted next week, potholes may emerge on Portage roads. If you see potholes or if they become a problem - make sure to avoid them, then REPORT them!
