TECUMSEH HIGH SCHOOL: TPS Breaks Ground on Sculpture Garden at the High School

Groundbreaking

Tecumseh High School issued the following announcement on Sept. 20. 

On Friday, October 19, Staff, learners, and community members gathered to break ground on the new high school sculpture garden.

THS principal Griff Mills opened the ceremony before Christine Obeid, THS art facilitator, gave a brief history of the project and work to be completed. Superintendent Kelly Coffin closed out the presentation by thanking the Stubnitz Foundation, the Elizabeth Ruthruff Wilson Foundation, ARAMARK, and the private donations that provided the funding to complete phase one of the garden.

The district received $10,000 from the Stubnitz Foundation; $10,000 from the Elizabeth Ruthruff Wilson Foundation and a $1,500 private donation for memorial trees for the space.

After the ceremonial groundbreaking, learners in attendance planted flowers around the Tom Rudd sculpture that is already in place.
