Napoleon Community Schools issued the following announcement on March 11
Napoleon Community Schools recognizes the importance of staying informed. We created this temporary web area to provide important information and to help our families & community stay healthy. We are in regular contact with local officials to monitor the Coronavirus situation. We will continue to take direction from the Governor’s Office, the Michigan Department of Education, and the local health department and take careful consideration of all information provided as the situation develops. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this stressful time. We encourage you to help us to take appropriate actions to safeguard our students, faculty and staff by reviewing these everyday preventative actions. Most importantly, stay home and keep your children home from class, work or social settings if you/they have flu-like symptoms, especially when accompanied by a fever.
Facilities:
- Increased to twice a day the wiping down of high touch areas with an improved disinfectant product proven to fight against the virus.
- The Child Care Center has increased the number of wipe downs of surfaces, especially around mealtimes. Parents continue to be reminded if children experience a fever or other sickness to stay home.
- Regularly our bus fleet is sprayed with sanitizing spray daily. At this time we have increased this to twice per day. We are also wiping the entire 520 seats in our fleet 2-3 times weekly. This will persist until at least Spring Break or as deemed necessary beyond this time based on circumstances.
- Our Food Service Dept. maintains an excellent health department record due to their standard practice of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness cleanliness.
- Increasing their hand washing efficiencies and disinfecting areas of concern/ sanitizing more often than recommended and required with a product that has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses of this nature according to the EPA .
