City of Fenton recently issued the following announcement.
Republic Services, the city's former refuse and recycling collector, has started retrieving its refuse and recycling containers from neighborhoods in the City of Fenton.
The containers are the property of Republic, officials of which have told the city that it could take up to two weeks to retrieve all carts.
If you have questions about their process, please call Republic at 888-872-7455.
A resident's best bet is to leave Republic bins in the right of way (at the curb). We have had reports that even if the bins have refuse or recycling in them, they will be picked up.
The city will not cite residents for leaving bins in the street until Republic's collection is complete.
This Friday, the city's new vendor, GFL, will make its first collection in the city before switching to Wednesday collection on Oct. 6. GFL has started delivering bins to residents, with the goal of having all bins delivered by Thursday.
As a reminder, if residents don't have bins by Friday, refuse and recycling can be left out in bags.
