Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) expressed his support for Mike Johnson's election as the 56th Speaker of the House. In a statement released today, Walberg highlighted the achievements of the House Republican Conference and expressed confidence in Speaker Johnson's leadership.

"Today, the House Republican Conference reunited to elect a strong conservative, Mike Johnson, as the 56th Speaker of the House," said Congressman Walberg. He commended the House Republicans for their accomplishments over the past nine months, despite facing challenges with a historically small majority.

During this period, the House Republicans successfully passed significant legislation, including measures on border security, the Parents Bill of Rights, and comprehensive energy reform. They also managed to allocate 70% of discretionary funding through single-subject appropriations bills. These achievements demonstrate their commitment to delivering results for the American people.

Congressman Walberg emphasized that this critical work will continue under Speaker Johnson's leadership. He expressed his belief that Speaker Johnson will effectively represent the voice of the American people and ensure that the Republican agenda moves forward.

With Mike Johnson as the new Speaker of the House, the House Republican Conference looks forward to building upon their accomplishments and continuing to address the needs and concerns of the American people.
