Howard Linnabary, incumbent Leoni Township Supervisor, is seeking the Republican nomination for re-election to his seat for a four-year term. The primary election will be held on August 6.

Per Jackson County's official candidate list, Linnabary is running for re-election in the GOP primary against Michele Manke.

Linnabary and his wife Dianna own and operate Rose City Cruises, a cruise planning agency. According to the Rose City Cruises website, Linnabary is a Vietnam vet, having served in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Xuan Loc in 1966 and 1967. Linnabary spent 39 years at Consumers Energy, and he and Dianna have been married since 1993.

In a press release, Private Property Rights PAC — a political action committee whose "mission is to safeguard and promote the ownership and control of private property" — endorsed Linnabary, stating that he "has demonstrated a profound commitment to the principles of property rights and governance that respect the rights of individual property owners" and praising his stance against government overreach.

Private Property Rights PAC Senior Adviser Madeline Morris expressed confidence in Linnabary's commitment to private property rights and government transparency and accountability, predicting that he "will help protect the foundational rights that are vital to personal freedom and economic stability" in Leoni Township.

According to the Leoni Township website, the township supervisor's responsibilities include moderating board and annual meetings, attending and participating in all township board meetings, appointing commission, committee, and authority members, constructing, maintaining, and repairing public township property, and preparing and administering the annual budget.

Per the Michigan Townships Association, supervisors are elected to four-year terms.
