City of Jackson working with Anchor Initiative to redevelop the Hayes Hotel property

City of Jackson issued the following announcement on Aug 31.

The City of Jackson is working with the Anchor Initiative on a new effort to get the Hayes Hotel property redeveloped. The 10 story former hotel building has been vacant since the City took over ownership in 2004. It was previously used as office space by Consumers Energy and a hotel for several decades. Information about the redevelopment effort can be found in a Request for Developer Qualifications guide. This RFQ document is available on the City website.

The Anchor Initiative is Jackson, Michigan’s private sector effort to transform and revitalize the downtown area. The Anchor Initiative has been a driving force to bring in new businesses and developments into the downtown area, creating prosperous businesses and a wonderful place for many to call home.
