State Rep. Kathy Schmaltz | Michigan House Republicans
State Rep. Kathy Schmaltz and the Michigan House of Representatives paid tribute to the late Rep. Clark Bisbee, who served the Jackson area from 1999 to 2004. Bisbee, a dedicated and selfless public servant, passed away on March 27, 2023.
During the recognition, the House adopted a memorial resolution in Bisbee's honor. Rep. Schmaltz presented his wife Katie with a tribute and a flag that had been flown over the state Capitol. In her remarks, Schmaltz emphasized Bisbee's commitment to his constituents and his passion for helping others.
"Clark will be remembered as a dedicated and selfless public servant who represented the constituents of the 64th district with honor and respect," said Rep. Schmaltz. "I knew Clark personally and he was a great friend, mentor, and leader. He was quick to offer advice and encouragement and was always there for those who needed him. Clark loved serving in the Legislature. He wanted to help people and he did."
Bisbee's impact extended beyond his political career. He leaves behind his wife Katie and their four children, Casey, Megan, Leland IV, and Peter. He is also survived by three siblings and seven grandchildren.
The Michigan House of Representatives' recognition of Rep. Clark Bisbee serves as a testament to his dedication and commitment to serving the people of the 64th district. His legacy will be remembered and cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
