Rep. Tim Walberg, U.S. Congressman representing Michigan’s 5th district since 2011, posted a series of tweets on September 18, 2025, addressing the U.S. Air Force's anniversary, student rights on college campuses, and legislation affecting motorcycle riders in national parks.
In a message marking the anniversary of the U.S. Air Force, Walberg stated: "On the 78th birthday of the U.S. Air Force, we recognize the dedication of the men and women who protect our skies and defend our nation’s freedoms. Thank you to all who have served our country!" (September 18, 2025).
Later that day, he addressed campus free speech issues: "Students should not have to forfeit their First Amendment rights of speech, religion, and association to attend a public college.
I’m proud to introduce the Equal Campus Access Act to protect religious freedom and ideological diversity on college campuses." (September 18, 2025).
Walberg also commented on his legislative work regarding access for motorcycle riders in national parks: "It was great to discuss my legislation, the America the Beautiful Fairness Act, at today’s @NatResources hearing.
This bill will ensure that motorcycle riders can continue to enjoy the open roads of our national parks." (September 18, 2025).
Tim Walberg has represented Michigan’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Mark Schauer in 2011 and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago in 1951 and currently residing in Tipton at age 72, Walberg holds a BA from Taylor University.
