Jackson Police Department will hold its annual Turkey Drive-Thru event on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the American 1 Convention Center located at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 128 West Ganson Street.

The drive-thru is open exclusively to residents of Jackson. There is no need for prior registration and turkeys are provided free of charge. Participants are required to stay in their vehicles throughout the process. Entry will be through the North Blackstone Street entrance, and drivers will proceed through the parking lot to receive their turkey before exiting via West Ganson Street.

This year, the department aims to distribute 300 turkeys with support from Wal-Mart as a community partner.

The initiative is part of the Police Department’s Group Violence Intervention (GVI) Strategy. Cheryl Ragland, coordinator for GVI, stated: “Having enough food on the table for a family holiday is a big part of that,” Ragland said. “With increasing food costs for families, we hope this helps to alleviate some financial strain during the holiday season.”

Turkeys will be handed out while supplies last, with one turkey available per vehicle.
