A former Hillsdale County assistant prosecutor and current real estate agent has announced his bid for the 58th District House seat.
Daren Wiseley, 28, is the third GOP candidate vying for the seat held by Rep. Eric Leutheuser, who must vacate the seat when his term ends this year due to term limits.
Wiseley bills himself as pro-life and a supportive of the Second Amendment. His website states he will “fight for the conservative values."
Hillsdale Mayor Adam Stockford and attorney Andrew Fink are the other Republican candidates who threw their hats in the primary ring. The single Democratic candidate is Steven Soward.
Wiseley is from Osseo and is a real estate agent with Century 21 Drews Realty. He holds a law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana Tech.
Wiseley prosecuted child abuse and neglect cases, as well as misdemeanor cases during his time with the Hillsdale County Prosecutor’s Office.
This is his first foray into politics.
