Rep. Tim Walberg, a U.S. Congressman representing Michigan’s 5th district since 2011, recently addressed several national issues on his social media account, focusing on the Middle East, government funding, and the impact of a federal shutdown on small businesses.

On October 16, 2025, Walberg commented on recent developments in the Middle East by stating, "On Monday, we witnessed a historic moment due to the strong leadership of President @realDonaldTrump. He stood firm, freed the hostages, and has opened the door to achieving a lasting peace in the Middle East."

The following day, he criticized Democrats over a government shutdown and its effects on local economies: "The Democrats' shutdown is hurting Main Street America. Under a month-long shutdown, small businesses in Michigan will face $92 million in delays in SBA loans." This statement highlights concerns about delayed Small Business Administration loans for Michigan businesses during prolonged federal funding lapses.

On October 19, 2025, Walberg called attention to legislative efforts by House Republicans regarding government funding: "Today marks one month since @HouseGOP acted responsibly and passed a clean continuing resolution to fund the government. Senate Democrats must stop the partisan games and pass the clean funding that they’ve blocked 10 times."

Tim Walberg has represented Michigan’s 5th District in Congress since 2011 after serving in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago in 1951 and currently residing in Tipton at age 72, Walberg holds a BA from Taylor University.
