City of Hillsdale issued the following announcement on Oct 25.
On Wednesday, Oct. 27, BPU crews will replace two water shut-off valves at the intersection of South Howell Street and East Lynwood Boulevard. South Howell Street will remain open, but flaggers will be posted to direct traffic around the work zones.
This work will involve a temporary water outage and boil water notice for the following residences:
- 64 E. Hallett St.
- 155-215 S. Howell St.
- 36, 38, 40 Lynwood Blvd.
- All of Markris Drive
The boil water notice will be in effect for as little as 48 hours after the first water sample is taken, but may take longer. Until the notice is lifted, water for consumption or cooking should be boiled for at least 15 minutes. Bathing and washing clothes should not cause any problems.
Flushing a hose bib outside your home after flow is reestablished, until clear, will aid in the clearing of household lines.
We will notify residents when the water is safe to consume via door hangers, the City’s website, and social media and local radio.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
If you have any questions, you may contact the BPU Water/Wastewater Department by calling (517) 437-6412.
