Sand Creek Community Schools welcomed 783 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 783 students enrolled in Sand Creek Community Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.5% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.1% of them were boys, and 47.9% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 90.4% of the Sand Creek Community Schools total enrollment.

Sand Creek Community Schools covers two schools within Lenawee County with its main office in Sand Creek. Among them, Sand Creek High School recorded the highest enrollment of 425 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
