David Pixley is seeking the Republican nomination to represent District 7 on the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners for a two-year terms. The primary election will be held on August 6.
According to the League of Women Voters' Vote411 Voter Guide, Pixley is running for election in the GOP primary against Kevon Martis.
Pixley currently serves as Palmyra Township Supervisor.
In a press release, Private Property Rights PAC — a political action committee whose "mission is to safeguard and promote the ownership and control of private property" — endorsed Pixley, stating that he "has demonstrated a profound commitment to the principles of property rights and governance that respect the rights of individual property owners" and praising his stance against government overreach.
Private Property Rights PAC Senior Adviser Madeline Morris expressed confidence in Pixley's commitment to private property rights and government transparency and accountability, predicting that he "will help protect the foundational rights that are vital to personal freedom and economic stability" in Lenawee County.
According to the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners' webpage, there are nine commissioners, each representing one district.
The Michigan Association of Counties' website explains that the county board of commissioners serves as the county's legislative body. Responsibilities include authorizing the sale or lease of real estate belonging to the county, passing county ordinances, establishing rules and regulations pertaining to the county's interest and business concerns, and borrowing money or raising funds through taxation.
