Senator Roger Victory, a prominent political figure, has recently taken to social media to express his gratitude and legislative efforts concerning water safety and the Great Lakes. His recent tweets highlight both an acknowledgment of national leadership in environmental protection and a proactive stance on enhancing educational curricula for public safety.

On May 14, 2025, Senator Victory extended his appreciation towards former President Donald Trump for his role in safeguarding the Great Lakes. In his tweet, he stated "Thank you President Trump for protecting our Great Lakes!"

The following day, May 15, 2025, Senator Victory marked International Water Safety Day by announcing the introduction of Senate Bill 295. This proposed legislation aims to incorporate water safety instruction into the curriculum for all public school students. He shared this initiative through a tweet that read: "Today is International Water Safety Day. Earlier this week I introduced Senate Bill 295 which adds water safety instruction to the curriculum for every public school student."

In a subsequent post on the same day, Senator Victory emphasized the significance of water safety education in Michigan due to its geographical context. He highlighted alarming statistics from the previous year with more than 90 drownings occurring in the Great Lakes region. He stated: "Water safety is important, especially in Michigan. Last year, more than 90 people drowned in the Great Lakes. That's why I want to make sure we are equipping our youth with critical life skills to keep them safe here in the Great Lakes state!"
