Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) issued a statement following the release of the Department of Labor’s August jobs report. In his remarks, Walberg highlighted the impact of current federal policies on employment.
“President Trump’s pro-growth agenda continues to bolster our economy and restore pride in the American workforce. Even after inheriting the beleaguered Biden-Harris economy, this administration continues to implement policies that put workers and job creators first. As Chairman of this Committee, my colleagues and I are working hard alongside the Trump administration to enact commonsense policies and promote opportunities for our entire workforce to succeed,” Walberg said.
Walberg has represented Michigan’s 5th district in Congress since 2011, succeeding Mark Schauer. He previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago in 1951, Walberg is now 72 years old and resides in Tipton. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University.
