On September 5, 2025, Walberg highlighted the House's passage of new legislation targeting fentanyl production in China. He stated, "Illicit fentanyl poisonings are now the number one cause of death among adults 18-49. This week, the House passed the STOP Chinese Fentanyl Act to sanction CCP fentanyl producers, strengthen our national security, and keep Americans safe."
Later that day, he reported on his participation in a business-focused event. On September 5, 2025, he posted: "It was great to join the National Federal of Independent Businesses for a roundtable and discuss the permanent extension of the small business deduction. Walberg has represented Michigan’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Mark Schauer in 2011. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago in 1951 and currently residing in Tipton at age 72, Walberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Taylor University.
