Walberg discusses workforce policy with Labor Secretary Chavez-DeRemer

Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg met with Lori Chavez-DeRemer, Secretary of the Department of Labor. The meeting aimed to address workforce issues in the United States.

Chairman Walberg expressed his satisfaction after reconnecting with a former committee member. He stated, “It was a pleasure to reconnect with a former member of the Committee and colleague to discuss the issues facing our nation’s workforce."

Walberg highlighted Secretary Chavez-DeRemer's experience as both a small business owner and former mayor, noting her understanding of policies that promote job growth. He remarked, "As a small business owner and former mayor, Secretary Chavez-DeRemer is knowledgeable on policies that support job growth and allow workers to prosper."

The discussion focused on collaborative efforts between the committee and Secretary Chavez-DeRemer to implement policies aimed at reducing regulatory burdens and fostering job creation. Walberg emphasized this goal by saying, “The Committee is working with Secretary Chavez-DeRemer to enact polices that roll back burdensome regulations and support job creation so we can unleash the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of the American workforce.”

He concluded by expressing optimism about fulfilling President Trump's vision for America's future: "Together we will help deliver on President Trump’s agenda to create a new golden age for America."
