Today, Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson provided details about the upcoming 166th Mississippi State Fair, scheduled for October 2-13, 2025, at the Mississippi Fairgrounds in Jackson. He was joined by Michael Lasseter, Director of the Mississippi State Fairgrounds; Azia Smith from Joni and Friends Mississippi; Miss Rodeo Mississippi Sierra Greene; and Junior Miss Dixie National Shelby Kate Taylor.
"We’re excited to announce that tickets for this year’s State Fair are officially on sale," said Commissioner Gipson. A special promotion offers general admission tickets at half price if purchased by 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. Afterward, pre-sale tickets will be $8 through October 2, increasing to $10 afterward. Parking will be free this year.
Musical performances during the fair include Montell Jordan and All-4-One, Cory Asbury, Ronnie McDowell, Maddie & Tae with Tayler Holder. Concert tickets are available online, and fair admission is included with concert ticket purchases.
Fairgoers can enjoy over 70 carnival rides and more than 100 food vendors. The event will feature traditional attractions like livestock shows and new ones such as the X Riders Motocross event on October 11.
For the first time, the Miss Rodeo Mississippi and Miss Dixie National pageants will occur during the fair on October 5. These events are open to the public.
A new initiative is Disability Friendly Day on October 7, in partnership with Joni and Friends Mississippi. This day offers an accessible experience for individuals with disabilities, including sensory tents and wheelchair-accessible facilities.
"We’ve really got something for everyone this year," said Commissioner Gipson. "And something we’re very proud to offer for the first time in State Fair history is a special day specifically designed to meet the needs of our disabled community."
