Rep. Tim Walberg, who represents Michigan’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his involvement in legislative and educational initiatives through a series of social media posts.
On September 8, 2025, Walberg shared his participation in a panel hosted by the Southeastern Border Association of Realtors. He wrote, "I enjoyed participating in the Southeastern Border Association of Realtors’ legislative panel to discuss how the One Big, Beautiful Bill permanently extended vital tax provisions which will incentivize home ownership. Later that day, Walberg marked National Literacy Month with another post. He stated on September 8, 2025: "Happy National Literacy Month! As Chairman of the Education and Workforce Committee, I am committed to prioritizing reading and literacy skills to ensure that students have the tools necessary to succeed. https://t.co/Up6Ei7Tdrw".
Continuing his focus on education policy, Walberg posted on September 9, 2025 about an event with Secretary McMahon: "It was great joining @EdSecMcMahon in Hillsdale and Detroit on her Returning Education to the States Tour to discuss how we can improve education by empowering students, parents, teachers, and local districts.

Tim Walberg has represented Michigan’s 5th District since 2011 after replacing Mark Schauer. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago in 1951 and currently residing in Tipton at age 72, Walberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Taylor University.
