Rep. Tim Walberg, U.S. Congressman representing Michigan’s 5th district since 2011, marked Constitution Day and commented on recent economic and legislative developments in a series of posts on September 17, 2025.
In his first post commemorating the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, Walberg stated: "Happy Constitution Day! On this day in 1787, delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in Philadelphia. I remain committed to upholding and defending the Constitution." (September 17, 2025)
Later that day, Walberg addressed monetary policy following an announcement by the Federal Reserve: "Today’s decision by the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates by a quarter point is long overdue.
Lowering rates will make homeownership more affordable for working Americans, empower Main Street America, and stimulate economic growth." (September 17, 2025)
In his final post of the day, Walberg discussed legislative efforts aimed at public safety in Washington D.C.: "We must reverse soft-on-crime policies and restore safety to our nation’s capital. This week, @HouseGOP passed four bills to restore law and order
DC CRIMES Act
D.C. Juvenile Sentencing Reform Act
District of Columbia Policing Protection Act
District of Columbia" (September 17, 2025)
