Rep. Tim Walberg addresses government shutdown and national security issues in recent posts

Rep. Tim Walberg, U.S. Congressman representing Michigan’s 5th district since 2011, recently addressed his constituents’ concerns and shared his views on government operations and national security in a series of posts on X.

On October 10, 2025, Walberg wrote, "Over the last two weeks, I’ve heard from many frustrated constituents who simply do not understand why the Democrats shut down the government and walked away from a deal they’ve supported over a dozen times. I share that frustration. My office continues to stay open to provide https://t.co/ygyklmYD59".

The following day, he commented further on the ongoing situation in Congress: "Democrats have voted 8 times to put politics ahead of paying our troops and keeping the government working for the American people. They must pass the clean CR to turn the lights back on. https://t.co/1ImlNA0v8q" (October 11, 2025).

Later that same day, Walberg shifted focus to foreign policy by expressing support for former President Trump’s efforts: "President Trump is the peace president and has delivered a historic plan to bring all hostages home. https://t.co/79og37oZfN" (October 11, 2025).

Tim Walberg was born in Chicago in 1951 and currently resides in Tipton. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Taylor University and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999 before being elected to Congress.
