Efforts to reduce gun violence in the City of Jackson are getting a big boost after the Jackson City Council unanimously voted to allocate $1.5 million to a Group Violence Intervention (GVI) program. The allocation of federal funds available to the City from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) came at the Tuesday, Aug. 17 City Council meeting.
A comprehensive package of information about the new service, including swap options and procedures as well as key dates, has been mailed to residents.
