Special Brush Collection Begins Monday, Aug. 30

Storm

City of Hillsdale issued the following announcement on Aug 18.

There will be a citywide brush collection as a result of last week’s storms. Currently, crews are working on hauling away fallen trees and large branches with dump trucks and loaders. Afterwards they will begin collecting smaller brush.

City of Hillsdale residents have until Monday, Aug. 30, to place brush near the curb for collection. Items should be less than 8 inches in diameter and smaller than eight feet in length. Please do not pile brush around fire hydrants or push it into the street or sidewalk. Additionally, we ask that you do not pile brush within 30 feet of an intersection and remain mindful of pile height to maintain clear sight lines for the safety of vehicles and pedestrians.

Once crews have been to a property, they will not be back as part of the special brush collection, so any items not left at the curb before 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, will not be collected. There will be no exceptions.

Additionally, the City’s brush site on Waterworks Avenue is open to city residents only Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for residential brush drop off. Residents will need to check in at the DPS office on arrival as the gate is locked.
