City of Hillsdale issued the following announcement on Aug 12.
On August 12, 2021, BPU will be replacing the fire hydrant at the corner of Barber Drive and Hillsdale Street. This will require turning off the water in the main line supplying the following residences: 285, 290, 291, 298, 303, 304, 311, 322, 332, 334, and 339 Hillsdale St. and ALL of Williams Court.
Water will be shut off for approximately 2 hours which will start at noon. The drop in water pressure will require us to issue a boil water notice.
The boil water notice will be in effect until two consecutive 24-hour tests come back clear. During this time, water for consumption or cooking should be boiled for at least 15 minutes. Bathing and washing clothes should not cause any problems.
The boil water notice will be in effect for as little as 48 hours after the first water sample is taken but may take longer. Flushing a hose bib outside your home after flow is re-established, till clear, will aid in the clearing of household lines. BPU will notify affected residents when the water is safe to consume via door hanger, website, social media, and radio.
Any additional questions residents may have should be directed to our BPU office at (517) 437-3387.
