State Rep. Kathy Schmaltz announced today that two local non-profits in the Jackson area have been awarded substantial grants totaling $2.5 million. The grants were allocated through the Community Center Grant Program, which is administered by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.Jackson Interfaith Shelter and Residents in Action, Inc. are the recipients of these grants, with Jackson Interfaith Shelter set to receive $2 million and Residents in Action receiving $500,000.
