CITY OF HILLSDALE: Off Street Parking and Sidewalk Clearing

Snowparking

City of Hillsdale issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.

With the upcoming potential snow arrival the City is reminding residents to move all vehicles off the street in order for the city crew to conduct snow removal from curb to curb. A city snow emergency goes into effect if there are more than 4 inches of snow. The city snow emergency means no parking on city streets in order for the snow plows to get their job done. Please help local law enforcement and street crews out by being proactive and moving your vehicles before they are ticketed, towed and/or plowed in.

Also a reminder on clearing snow on sidewalks, City ordinance requires that sidewalks be cleared of snow and ice from all sidewalks located within the City of Hillsdale. It is the responsibility of the property owner / occupant to clear such accumulation from walkways within twenty-four (24) hours of a snow fall.

Business Owners: Please keep the sidewalks adjacent to your business cleared of snow obstructions. Keeping your sidewalks clear of snow allows better access to your business and protects you from a slip and fall liability. Please do not place snow in the street.
