Fire Department- Office Assistant

The City of Adrian Fire Department is currently seeking a part-time Office Assistant.  The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with the public professionally and courteously, and have strong computer/software skills. Familiarity with BS&A software is preferred.  The Office Assistant will be responsible for Clerical duties, maintenance of records, mailings, and data entry are required. Some municipal experience is desirable.

Responsibilities include, scheduling inspections, processing permits, and coordinating activities with city staff and business owners as well as other clerical duties that may be necessary including billing, filing, and answering the telephone. Ability to multi-task, and attention to detail is necessary, as is the ability to work constructively and professionally with others.    

Minimum qualifications:  high school diploma or equivalent, 2-years previous related experience, skill in maintaining records, using office equipment, including computers and related software, and the ability to work constructively and interact professionally with others. This position is 28 hours per week. The salary range is $18.78-$23.56 per hour and does not include health insurance.
