Rep. Tim Walberg, who represents Michigan’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on social media regarding Labor Day celebrations, education, and tax policy.
On September 1, 2025, Walberg posted a message for workers in his district and nationwide: "Happy Labor Day to all those in Michigan’s 5th District and across the nation who work hard to keep our country running!"
Two days later, on September 3, he commented on preparations for the new school year following a meeting with a local education leader: "It was great to meet with Monroe County Intermediate School District Superintendent Steve McNew and hear about the district’s preparations for the new school year. I wish all the students heading back to school good luck and hope this school year is a memorable and successful"
Later that day, Walberg highlighted recent developments concerning tax policy for working Americans: "Working Americans deserve to be able to pocket more of their hard-earned money. Check out the thread below on who qualifies for the new no tax on tips deduction "
Tim Walberg has represented Michigan's 5th District in Congress since 2011 after succeeding Mark Schauer. He previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago in 1951, Walberg currently resides in Tipton and holds a BA from Taylor University.
