Herbert Dunton and Bill Thompson were a pair of Fenton originals who were often seen in town during the 1920's and 30's.
They were known to go into local businesses and drum loudly, Herbert booming a loud, slow beat on the bass drum while Bill worked the snare, until frustrated onlookers paid them off with money or meals and they moved on to new targets.
We found a fantastic picture of the eccentric duo, as well as a newspaper article documenting their performance ritual, and Herbert's 1938 death certificate. Enjoy!
