Tim Walberg, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 5th district, has recently expressed his views on educational matters through a series of tweets. Serving since 2011, Walberg succeeded Mark Schauer and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he is currently based in Tipton and holds a BA from Taylor University.

On December 11, 2024, Walberg tweeted about his readiness to deliver results for various groups upon commencement: "We are ready to hit the ground running on Day 1 to deliver for students, parents, and American workers!"

Later that day, at 22:33 UTC, Walberg criticized the Department of Education's performance: "The Department of Education has failed students and their families. It can’t continue, and thanks to @RepHouchin’s leadership, students will have more clarity."

On December 12, 2024, he continued his critique by addressing a shift in focus within education: "The mission drifted from education to indoctrination. But those days are numbered and change is coming. Thanks @DefendingEd for your work uncovering this."
