Rep. Tim Walberg, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 5th district, shared insights and updates through a series of tweets on May 20, 2025. His posts covered topics ranging from legislative efforts to environmental concerns.

In his first tweet of the day, Rep. Walberg expressed appreciation for President Donald Trump's remarks regarding a significant piece of legislation. "It was an honor to hear from President @realDonaldTrump this morning about the crucial need to pass the One Big, Beautiful Bill to deliver on the mandate given by the American people." The proposed bill aims to restore fiscal responsibility in Washington and prevent a substantial tax increase.

Later that day, Walberg discussed his participation in a radio interview with WJR where he elaborated on aspects of the One Big, Beautiful Bill managed by the Education and Workforce Committee. He emphasized its financial impact by stating: "We must pass this critical legislation that saves taxpayers $349.1 billion." The measures include strengthening accountability for students and taxpayers as well as streamlining student loan options.

In another tweet, Rep. Walberg turned attention towards environmental issues affecting the Great Lakes region. He highlighted ongoing threats posed by invasive carp species and noted his interaction with Acting Deputy Director of Operations David Miko concerning protective measures under President Trump’s directive: "The Great Lakes are a national treasure and must be protected from threats like invasive carp."

Tim Walberg has represented Michigan's 5th District since 2011 after replacing Mark Schauer in Congress. Before his congressional tenure, he served in Michigan's House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999.
