Senator Roger Victory from Hudsonville welcomed U.S. Army Captain Nate VandenBosch to the Michigan state Capitol on Thursday. The occasion was the 30th Annual Memorial Day Service organized by the Michigan Senate, dedicated to honoring the state's fallen soldiers.

Captain VandenBosch serves as the commander of Alpha Battery, 1-182nd Field Artillery Regiment of the Michigan Army National Guard. This unit is equipped with the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), a weapon system designed for long-range precision strikes that can fire rockets or missiles to provide mobile combat power for ground forces commanders.

The event was part of a tradition recognizing those who have sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.
