Tim Walberg highlights law enforcement support and energy legislation for Michigan’s 5th District

Rep. Tim Walberg, who has represented Michigan’s 5th District in the U.S. Congress since 2011 and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives, recently shared updates on his legislative activities through a series of social media posts. The tweets highlighted his ongoing discussions with local law enforcement officials and emphasized recent legislative efforts aimed at energy policy and economic relief.

On July 9, 2025, Walberg described a meeting with Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship focused on supporting law enforcement. He stated, "Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship to discuss how we can ensure our law enforcement officers have the resources they need to protect our communities. We were also able to talk about how the No Tax on Overtime provision".

Later that day, Walberg commented on energy legislation, saying "The One Big Beautiful Bill Act unleashes American energy dominance, decreasing our reliance on foreign adversaries and lowering energy costs for families in Michigan’s 5th District and across the country. This historic legislation will deliver the relief that hardworking" (July 9, 2025).

Continuing his focus on this legislation, Walberg posted on July 10, 2025: "The One Big Beautiful Bill Act will deliver historic wins for Michigan’s 5th District. Read more about how this once-in-a-generation legislation will provide relief for Americans here https://t.co/oLdzPQYV3b".

Tim Walberg was born in Chicago in 1951 and currently resides in Tipton. He holds a BA from Taylor University.
