Representative Tim Walberg, who has served Michigan’s 5th District in the U.S. Congress since 2011 and previously represented his state in the Michigan House of Representatives, recently addressed a range of issues on social media. Walberg, born in Chicago in 1951 and currently residing in Tipton, used his platform to reflect on national events, legislative activity supporting veterans, and new legislation concerning motorcycle access to national parks.

On July 13, 2025, Walberg marked the anniversary of an assassination attempt against former President Trump. He wrote: "Today, we reflect on the tragic assassination attempt against President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania a year ago, and thank God for keeping him safe. We also pray for the Comperatore family who grieve Corey’s loss and for Jim Copenhaver and David Dutch as they continue to recover".

The following day, July 14, 2025, Walberg highlighted his visit to the Homer VFW and congressional efforts to support veterans. He stated: "I was glad to stop by the Homer VFW to talk about Congress’ efforts to support our nation’s heroic veterans. The House recently passed the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act to fully fund veterans’ benefits, veterans’ health care".

Later on July 14, 2025, Walberg addressed concerns regarding recent policy changes affecting motorcyclists visiting national parks. He posted: "A 2024 policy change has penalized motorcyclists visiting our national parks, creating an unfair burden. My legislation, the America the Beautiful Motorcycle Fairness Act, would ensure that riders can continue to enjoy the open roads of our parks. Read more here:".

Tim Walberg has represented Michigan’s 5th District since succeeding Mark Schauer in 2011. A graduate of Taylor University with a BA degree, he brings decades of legislative experience from both state and federal government.
