Rep. Tim Walberg, who represents Michigan’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on July 18, 2025, addressing government spending and recent legislative actions taken by the House GOP.

Later that morning at 04:07 UTC, he stated, " @HouseGOP just voted to prioritize the needs of the American people instead of funding far-left foreign initiatives. The Rescissions Act will codify DOGE's cuts and eliminate $9 billion in wasteful spending."
By midday at 12:53 UTC, Walberg added another update: "ICYMI: @HouseGOP passed critical legislation to strengthen our national security and support our troops and their families. We must continue to restore peace through strength."
Tim Walberg has served in Congress since 2011 after replacing Mark Schauer and previously held office in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Born in Chicago in 1951 and currently residing in Tipton, Walberg holds a BA from Taylor University.
