Senator Roger Victory, who represents Michigan's 31st Senate District, has recently highlighted community events and legislative initiatives through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On August 18, 2025, Senator Victory promoted a local event with the message: "Check out the festivities at the Hudsonville Fair! It starts TODAY and goes through Saturday, August 23rd. https://t.co/VJhueIBY9c".

Two days later, on August 20, he addressed public safety concerns related to water activities in Michigan. He wrote: "Last year, more than 90 people drowned in the Great Lakes. To help promote water safety in our state, I introduced Senate Bill 295. My bill would add water safety instruction to the curriculum for every public-school student and equip them with critical life skills." According to state data, drowning incidents are an ongoing concern around the Great Lakes region.

On August 21, Senator Victory discussed his engagement with local business leaders: "Yesterday, I was able to meet with the The Chamber - Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg and discuss challenges for businesses in our community. Thank you to everyone who participated in this event and to the Chamber for helping make the event possible! https://t.co/P4yINg7oZI"

Senator Victory serves as a member of Michigan’s legislature representing Ottawa County communities such as Hudsonville and Grand Haven. The annual Hudsonville Fair is a longstanding tradition that draws residents from across western Michigan each summer. Water safety has become an increasing priority for lawmakers due to recurring drownings along Michigan’s shoreline. Business advocacy groups like The Chamber - Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg frequently collaborate with elected officials on issues affecting local economic development.
