Rep. Tim Walberg, who has represented Michigan’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2011, posted a series of messages on his social media accounts on November 11 and 12, 2025, focusing on Veterans Day and government funding issues.
On November 11, Walberg marked Veterans Day with a message expressing gratitude to service members: "Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women, past and present, who have answered the call to serve our nation with unwavering courage and sacrifice. Thank you for your service and for defending the freedoms we all hold dear." Later that day, he recognized a constituent from Coldwater: "It was an honor to recognize Rod Fikel from Coldwater as the Veteran of the Month on this Veterans’ Day. Thank you, Rod, for being an inspiration to many and showing remarkable perseverance in the face of adversity."
On November 12, Walberg addressed ongoing federal budget negotiations: "The American people should never have been used as political leverage by the Democrats. It’s time to pass this government funding bill and reopen the government for hardworking Michiganders."

Before joining Congress, he served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999.
