The Downtown Development Authority for the City of Adrian is accepting applications for the position of DDA/Main Street Director. With a population of 20,645, the City of Adrian is a city of arts, parks, and culture and the home of three colleges – Adrian College, Siena Heights University, and Jackson College. With a historic downtown featuring shops, restaurants, and events, it is the Lenawee County seat and is near three major metropolitan areas – Toledo, Ann Arbor, and Detroit. Adrian’s Downtown Development Authority is a group of passionate volunteers dedicated to enhancing, preserving, and promoting our rich history and vibrant arts & culture through meaningful partnerships with residents, business owners and stakeholders in Downtown Adrian.
The DDA/Main Street Director will be responsible for creating and managing programs, projects, events, and fundraising under the direction of the Adrian DDA/Main Street Board. The DDA/Main Street Director will play an essential role in the economic revitalization of the Adrian DDA/ Main Street District following the Main Street Approach.
Qualifications for this position are significant knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas: historic preservation, planning, economic development, retailing, marketing, design, volunteer management, nonprofit or DDA management, grant writing, and/or small business development. A Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study may substitute for some of the desired experience.
The expected salary range will approximate $60,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience, with a competitive benefits package.
