11/9/21 Boil Water Notice

Notice

City of Hillsdale issued the following announcement on Nov 9.

Boil water notice expanded to additional residences on Lewis Street and Spring Street. See the updated notice below.

The following addresses are subject to a boil water notice, effective immediately: 76-170 Lewis Street, 63-100 Westwood Street, 73-100 Spring Street.

This boil water notice is required because of a loss in water pressure caused by BPU crews shutting off water in order to repair a damaged water main in the area.

The boil water notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours or until two 24-hour consecutive bacteriological tests come back clear. Until the notice is lifted, water for consumption or cooking should be boiled for at least 15 minutes. Bathing and washing clothes should not cause any problems.

Flushing a hose bib outside your home after flow is reestablished, until clear, will aid in the clearing of household lines.

We will distribute door hangers, notify local media and publish updates to our website and social media to let affected residents know when this boil water notice is lifted.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
