NAPOLEON: Family, Friends, & T1Diabetes - Kickoff

Diabetes

Napoleon issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.

Come meet the Jackson Lions Diabetes Mentor team!

Jackson has a NEW support group for family, friends, and teachers of Type 1 Diabetes. This kickoff event will showcase and introduce what is to come for our monthly support groups. We will have snacks, support, education, resources, upcoming events, upcoming meeting dates,  and door prizes.

Connect with other people who share your experience! We will be starting the event at 2pm in the meeting room at the downtown Jackson Carnegie Branch library.

When you or someone you love has been diagnosed with T1D diabetes, the impact it can have on your life and your family can sometimes be overwhelming. Many have found it helpful to attend a support group, where they can meet others who share their experiences. In our Facebook group and/or our monthly meetings you can gain support and understanding, trade tips and ideas, improve your diabetes self-care, and focus on issues that are important to you.

Type 1 Diabetes is a disease that affects the whole family, especially when a family member is diagnosed. Whether you are a parent, sibling, family member, teacher, or a T1D support and understanding can make all the difference.
