At midnight on June 3, 1921, the Fenton Mill was destroyed by fire

Fenton Historical Society and The A. J. Phillips Museum issued the following announcement on Feb 20.

At midnight on June 3, 1921, the Fenton Mill was destroyed by fire. The Lansing State Journal noted damages were $50,000.00, which is more than $750,000.00, adjusted for inflation. 

Photographer George Tamlyn was on-scene and captured an eerily beautiful photo of the disaster
