One of the biggest weekends of the summer in Hillsdale is here, and we have some important information to share with residents regarding holiday events and service changes ahead of the July 4th weekend.
Please use this information to plan your travel to or around these upcoming events. We appreciate everyone’s help and patience as we welcome visitors to the community and enjoy these annual events. However you celebrate, be safe and enjoy!
MONDAY, JULY 4
- City offices are closed
- Dial-a-Ride Transportation services are canceled
- Modern Waste Systems is closed; all curbside waste pickup is delayed one (1) day next week
- Utility payments can be made during the holiday weekend by utilizing the 24/7 drop box at the BPU office, 45 Monroe Street, or by using the BPU’s phone or online payment options.
American Patriot Parade, Sunday, July 3, 6 p.m.
- Parade lineup begins at 5 p.m. in the Midtown Parking Lot. Pre-registration is not required. For more information, visit The American Patriot Parade on Facebook.
- Parade route: Midtown Parking Lot north to North St., then east to Howell St., then Howell St. to Barry St., then west on Barry St. to Midtown Alley
- North St. closed from N. Manning St. to N. Howell St.
- McCollum St. closed from N. Manning St. to N. Broad St.
- E. Bacon St. closed from N. Manning St. to N. Howell St.
- Waldron St. closed from midtown alley to S. Howell St.
- Barry St. closed from midtown alley to S. Howell St.
- N. Howell St./S. Howell St. closed from North St. to Barry St.
- N. Manning St./S. Manning St. closed from North St. to Barry St.
- Elk’s Lodge (Lot K)
- First United Methodist Church (Lot F)

- Hillsdale County Fairgrounds gates open at 5 p.m. There will be bounce houses, laser tag, fair food vendors, a band and DJ.
- Fireworks display will begin at dusk (approx. 9:30-10 p.m.)
