Public Power Week 2022 Coloring Contest

The City of Jackson is holding an event to help residents tidy up their properties this fall. The City Cleanup Day event is happening Saturday, Sept. 24 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Department of Public Works (DPW) Operations Center near Downtown Jackson. The event is free and open to all City residents.

Residents are asked to stay in their vehicles and drive through the drop off zones, entering using the intersection of Water and Morrell streets, and exiting using Franklin Street. Yard waste, such as grass clippings and brush are accepted, along with general household trash like boxes and furniture. The following is a list of items that WILL NOT be accepted: Batteries, tires, kitchen garbage, paint, liquid waste, appliances that contain or have contained freon, all hazardous waste, electronics, motor oil.

Staff working the events will check bags to make sure they do not contain prohibited items. Because this event is funded by the City, it is only open to City of Jackson residents.  The DPW Operations Center is located at 521 Water St. Updates about the cleanup event will be posted on the City’s Facebook page and website.
