Boards & Commissions

Are you interested in local government, serving your fellow citizens, and helping your city grow and thrive? If you said yes to all three, then volunteering at the City of Portage is for you! The city is seeking dedicated volunteers to serve on certain advisory boards and commissions. These groups assist the City Council and City Administration by providing the talent and the experience needed to solve problems and make improvements to the community.

The city is currently looking for applicants to serve on the Historic District Commission, the Human Services Board, the Local Officers Compensation Commission, and the Local Development Finance Authority. Portagers interested in serving on an advisory board or commission must be registered voters in the city.

Interested candidates are invited to apply online at https://www.portagemi.gov/151/Boards-Commissions. Apply by Thursday, December 22 to get a spot at the next round of interviews held on January 10.

Questions? Call the Office of the City Clerk at 329-4511.
