Washington, D.C. -- On July 14, 2023, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) voted for FY24 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) as it passed the House. Included in the legislation was an amendment authored by Rep. Walberg to identify workforce shortages that can be addressed in our military to increase preparedness.

"The NDAA passed by the House today will bolster our nation’s defensive capabilities and support our nation’s brave service members," said Rep. Walberg. "To improve the quality of life for those in uniform and their families, the NDAA authorizes a 5.2% increase in servicemember basic pay, the largest pay raise in over 20 years. The NDAA sets forth the provisions needed to counter growing threats posed by foreign adversaries like China while also cracking down on inefficient, unnecessary, and wasteful programs to save taxpayers $40 billion. Also included in the NDAA are provisions to strengthen parental rights for servicemembers, and my amendment that will identify ways to improve readiness through the Army’s H2F model and better identify workforce challenges for our military."
