Rep. Tim Walberg, currently serving in the U.S. Congress as the representative of Michigan’s 5th district, has been active on social media to update and inform his constituents about recent political developments and activities.
On April 10, 2025, Walberg posted on Twitter announcing a House GOP vote held that day to advance President Donald Trump's agenda. He outlined the key goals as follows: "Eliminate government waste, fraud, and abuse. Make historic investments in our communities. Lower taxes for hardworking families." The tweet highlighted the party's ongoing efforts in the reconciliation process to further Trump's policy objectives.
On the same day, Walberg addressed election integrity issues, notably highlighting a report from Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. He shared that "15 non-citizens were found to have illegally cast a ballot in the 2024 election in addition to a Chinese national attending the University of Michigan." As part of this effort, the House GOP passed the SAVE Act to enhance election security.
The following day, on April 11, 2025, Walberg posted a reminder regarding the Congressional Art Competition. He emphasized that the last date for students from Michigan’s 5th district to submit their artwork is April 18th, utilizing social media to encourage participation and engagement. Tim Walberg has served in Congress since 2011, after replacing Mark Schauer. He was previously a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1983 to 1999. Originating from Chicago, Illinois, Walberg was born in 1951 and is now a resident of Tipton, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Taylor University.
