Senator Mark Huizenga of Walker invited retired U.S. Army Sgt. Joshua Lunger to the Michigan Senate’s 30th Annual Memorial Day Service at the state Capitol. The event honored soldiers from Michigan who have lost their lives.

Joshua Lunger, now serving as vice president of government affairs for the Grand Rapids Chamber, has a military background as a scout and paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. He was deployed to Iraq from 2006 to 2008 and later served with the Michigan Army National Guard until December 2010.
